Casa del Suspiro is a 480 square metre residence in Mexico City designed by C Cubica Arquitectos. Conceived as an oasis in the middle of a busy urban area, it includes an encompassing garden that infuses both the indoor and outdoor spaces with a sense of calm. Glass walls and oversized windows allow for unobstructed leafy views, and on the ground floor, a double height room opens up to the landscape, creating the feeling of a covered terrace. Materials including concrete, stone, and metal are complemented by the abundant use of oak timber, from the flooring, ceilings, and walls to the latticework on the glass volume enveloping the staircase. The modern form of the home is softened by the warmth of natural materials and the close relationship with the outdoors.

Mira Lounge Chair designed by Matthew Hilton and crafted by De La Espada perches on the edge of the ground floor living space, where the garden merges with the architecture.
